Female South American Jaguar
Born October 18, 1993
Born in a roadside zoo in Ocala. She had to be pulled from her mother at ten days old. We were brought in to bottle feed her and keep her alive until a buyer could be found. We decided to keep her when we discovered that the potential buyer makes rugs out of many of his cats when he tires of them. She is one of only a handful of workable Jaguars in the country. She is named after the Mayan people who worshipped the Jaguars as gods.

Male Siberian Tiger
Born April 14, 1994
Bahl-Shoy was born in the same breeding facility as Tecumseh. His siblings were white and were sold to facilities in Europe. Being a "standard" tiger, Bahl-Shoy was considered surplus that was not needed by the breeder. We took him in for educational purposes. His name is Russian and translates to "very large and grand".

Male Northern Black Bear
Born January 7, 2001
Born at a roadside zoo, he was pulled from his parents right away and hand raised. When he was no longer legal to continue living in someone's home, he was brought back to that zoo and they didn't want the cost of building him a cage. Trying to keep him manageable, they had him de-clawed , then put him up for sale. Because he had been de-clawed, the CARE Foundation had great concerns that the entity purchasing him may not have provided the best sustainable habitat available, so we took him in.
